The upcoming Catacomb Cup from The Silph Arena is the final Cup for Season 2. If you are unfamiliar with the Catacomb Cup, the rules are as follows:

 

  • Great League Pokémon (1500 CP & Below).

  • Dark, Grass, Ice, Rock & Bug Types are ALLOWED.

  • Steel Types, Legendaries, Mythicals, Shadows, Regionals, Scrafty, Dewgong, Alolan Ninetales, Obstagoon & Crustle are BANNED.

As always, GO Stadium tries to provide practice tournaments so that the Meta can develop early & trainers can prepare for the upcoming month. This past weekend, our TM team was able to host a 6-Round practice tournament with 35 participants. Here, we have the Top 25 Pokémon based on usage in this first look at the Catacomb Cup.

 

With 38 unique Pokémon across 35 teams, Umbreon & Sudowoodo had the highest usage appearing on 71% of teams. A few notable inclusions in the Top 25 were both forms of Graveler, Snowy Castform & Magcargo. Full Breakdown can be seen at the bottom of the article. Winners:

 

This cup ended with a 4-way tie for first (5-1) between some very skilled players, so let's look at those full teams.

All four winners had both Sudowoodo & Lapras on their roster. Venusaur & Jumpluff were on three of the winning teams, and the only Skuntank in the whole tournament sneaks into the team with the highest buchholz score.
